Video:

Description

The man rattles off some reasons why he's considering taking his life - "There's no affordable housing. You think I wanted high taxes or global warming. Reality TV. I don't even know my neighbors." After a passing VW driver yells "Three V-Dubs for under seventeen thousand" the jumper decides life is worth living. The VWs for under $17,000 listed in the ad are the Rabbit, New Beetle, and Jetta.

Shortly after first airing on February 12, 2007, the ad was pulled from rotation after criticism from suicide prevention groups.

[Volkswagen Direct Blog] It seems that suicidal advertisements are really not on the environment of some critics.. It reminds me of the suicidal robot that made some mistake in droping a piece of VW Fox parts and made a drastic decision of jumping off on a building... Something like should be a warning to advertisement agencies not to make ads of criminal or inhumane acts because they will be just wasting money on this...
