Travelers Insurance - Snowball commercial

Summary: Walking down a steep street in San Francisco, a man trips, falls, and rolls down accumulating debris and other people along the way.

Description

The ball of people starts small, picking up only tiny items, then car doors, then entire vehicles like motorcycles and a Jeep. It even disturbs a wedding party having their pictures taken. The mass continues its momentum down the hill, crossing traffic and picking up everything in its way. Eventually it crashes into a building and disperses, leaving everyone relatively unscathed.

The voiceover says, "When your insurance is in synch, you can roll with anything."

The music in the ad was done by production company Human.

This commercial generated a little bit of controversy within the gaming community, because of similarities to the PlayStation 2 game "Katamari Damacy." The game's premise is to roll a special adhesive ball and accumulate more and more items in a fashion not unlike the "snowball" in the Travelers spot. Ad agency Fallon denies a connection.
