American Express - Robert De Niro commercial

Summary: Robert De Niro's love letter to New York City.

Video:

Description

The ad starts with the words: A LOVE LETTER TO A CITY.

Haunting music plays as De Niro walks towards the camera. Scenes of NYC's skyline and the neighborhoods and shown as De Niro speaks about the city he calls home.

The Tribeca Film Festival, held in New York City, was co-founded by Robert De Niro in 2002. American Express is the founding sponsor of the film festival, so the commercial of course includes references to Tribeca.

The music was written for the ad by Philip Glass, who is a renowned film composer. It is not Glass's "String Quartet No.3 (Mishima) 1957" as others have claimed.
