Music in the commercial
Lyrics used in the commercial
Sunshine go away today
I don't feel much like dancin'
Some man's gone, he's tried to run my life
Don't know what he's askin'
How much does it cost? I'll buy it
The time is all we've lost. I'll try it
He can't even run his own life
I'll be damned if he'll run mine
Sunshine
Sunshine come on back another day
I promise you I'll be singin'
This old world she's gonna turn around
Brand new bells'll be ringin'
Description
Using special effects, Jeep vehicles are placed in video footage from the past.
It starts off on a military base. As the soldiers do push-ups, a Jeep rides in the background. The footage is in black and white. Keeping the black and white theme, next up is Elvis Presley performing for fans, as a Jeep drives in back of him.
Then the picture gets some color, in what looks like 1960s home video, with two women in bikinis, one spinning a hula hoop, the other on a swing.
A Godzilla movie is up next. As the famous movie monster swats at planes, a Jeep drives along a ridge.
During one of the moon landings, a Jeep bounces around on the surface.
At a festival (probably Woodstock), people dance to the music, and a Jeep drives through.
In a classic Warner Bros. Road Runner cartoon, Wile E. Coyote is chasing his nemesis, and for no apparent reason a Jeep is riding along beside them.
Jane Goodall is next, in her dedicated study of chimpanzees. A Jeep drives through the forest in back of her.
The Devo video for "Whip It" gets the addition of a moving Jeep.
As the Berlin wall falls, a Jeep rides through the crowd.
During an episode of the Teletubbies television show, a Jeep does doughnuts on the grass in the background.
At a snowboarding halfpipe competition, a Jeep does some tricks of its own.
Next is a scene from television drama "Lost", in which John Locke (Terry O'Quinn) sits on the island beach. A Jeep drives in back of him.
The commercial then shows a Jeep in a normal, modern day situation, driving into someone's garage. Text: "66 years and still having fun."
