Song: Symphony No. 9: II. Molto vivace (Scherzo) composed by Beethoven
Description
Elvis Costello talks about Ludwig van Beethoven. "He wrote a few toe-tappers," he says matter-of-factly, but realizing full-well that Beethoven composed some of the most well-known and well-regarded music in history. The piece he's listening to is from Beethoven's 9th Symphony, which Costello points out was written when Beethoven was deaf. Costello then compares and contrasts the song to rock 'n' roll music.

I'm not sure which performance the commercial uses. If I find out I'll update the iTunes and amazon links, but for now they're just pointing to example performances.
