The ad is an homage to Jean-Luc Godard's 1963 film Le Mépris, specifically a scene between the characters played by Brigitte Bardot and Michel Piccoli. Plus, the music in the commercial is from the film soundtrack.

This is the English-language version of the ad, in which the woman (Julie Ordon) says, "Tell me. I need to know." The man on the bed has been holding the lipstick and clicking it, but then the woman grabs it and asks, "Do you love my lips?" and proceeds to apply the vivid red to her lips.

The French voice-over at the end is the product name: "Rouge Allure"
