Lyrics used in the commercial
Morning, it's another pure grey morning
Don't know what the day is holding
When I get uptight
And I walk right into the path of a lightning bolt
Everyone I see just wants to walk with gritted teeth
But when I see the signs I jump on that lightning bolt
They say you got to toe the line
They want the water not the wine
But when I see the signs I jump on that lightning bolt
Description
"A True Story" the ad begins. The scene is a Gators game during a sweltering day in 1965. They get hydration relief from Gatorade, which was born in a University of Florida lab.
The ad then transitions to some iconic athletes.
Football player Harry Carson, infamous for dumping Gatorade on the head coach Bill Parcells, is shown in his Giants uniform doing just that.
The scene transitions from the splash to a cup of Gatorade being held by someone on a basketball court. Basketball legend Michael Jordan dunks the ball from the foul line. This scene transitions to the next by way of the score board, which has the Gatorade logo on it.
A bottle of Gatorade is held at a different basketball game. Miami Heat's Dwyane Wade jumps up and down.
A quick transition to the tennis court. Serena Williams returns the ball and gracefully falls into a split.
A caddy of Gatorade is being carried, and now we're at a football game again. Peyton Manning, in his Denver Broncos uniform, walks out to the field with his team.
In the end, a man is running drills up stadium steps.
