Description
In a cafe/diner, a waitress pours coffee for three gentleman. She asks, "So do you announcer types hang out together all the time?"
Jeopardy! announcer Johnny Gilbert responds, "Whenever we can, yeah."
She asks what their most famous lines are. Gilbert exclaims, "This is Jeopardy!" Next up is Don LaFontaine, who is famous for his deep, gravel-voiced movie trailer voice-overs. "Between good and evil stands a warrior."
But then Ed McMahon says, "Listen to this," because he knows he's probably the most recognizable of the bunch, having been Johnny Carson's sidekick for years on the Tonight Show. He intones, "Hey-oh!" (Probably not as famous as his "Here's Johnny!" line)
The waitress is impressed, but just then the fellow on the stool in back turns around and says, "The New York Mega Millions jackpot is now over _____ million dollars." Everybody rushes out of the diner to go buy a lotto ticket.
The NY Lottery announcer's voice is intentionally dubbed over so the ad can be updated easier depending on the actual jackpot. The video included in this page has the line "The New York Mega Millions jackpot is now over 175 million dollars."
