Description
A follow up to AT&T/Cingular's text speak BFF Jill and BFF Rose commercials.
In this ad, the mother is playing Scrabble with her daughter, the daughter's friend, and the grandmother.
It's the friend's turn, and she puts down "ROTFL" which stands for "Rolling on the floor laughing." The daughter chimes in, "8 points." Grandma adds, "WTG" which stands for "Way to go."
As usual, the mother disproves of all this text speak. "ROTFL? Roffle's not English. Is texting all you girls do?" She grabs the cell phone from Grandma's hands, who indignantly says, "ONYD" which stands for "Oh, no you didn't."
With the cell phone in hand, the mother text messages her daughter across the table "AYL" or "Are... you... listening?" The daughter replies verbally by saying "Question mark?" which when written as "?" as a text message means "What?"
"I have completely failed you as a parent."
The voice-over: "Text like there's no 2MRO [tomorrow]. AT&T Family Plan. Now with unlimited texting to anyone on any network."
At the end: "Get the exclusive Walkman Slider for only $49.99."
