Description

The goal of the video game "Rock Band" is for a player or team of players to play along with songs on simulated peripheral instrument devices. Instead of focusing on the game play, this ad campaign remains abstract by showing the camaraderie of what's supposed to be a real band.

This spot takes place on board a plane. Sara, the bass player, comments that The Shins is a good band name. The drummer is skeptical. "What's with 'the'? It makes every band cool?" He lists a couple examples: The Streets, The Hives.

Lead singer Jake, apparently just looking at his body parts, rattles off The Fingers and The Arms. Meanwhile some classic names are tossed out there: The Doors and The Byrds.

The lead guitarist sarcastically says The Losers, to which Jake replies, "How about the ex-guitarist?" And Sara adds, "That's why I broke up with you."
