Description

The guy calls up his future father-in-law on a cell phone, and greets him formally by saying "Hello, Mr. McDermott." But Mr. McDermott wants to keep things casual so he replies "Call me Jim. You'll be my son-in-law in a few weeks." At first a little hesitant "OK. Jim." But after Mr. McDermott follows up with "Actually I hope you can think of me as a buddy" the future son-in-law takes this opportunity to joke around a little: "Sounds good Jim. Jimbo. Jimmy boy. The Jimster. [singing] Jimmy crack corn and I don't care."

At this point, the call gets dropped and although the audience can tell Mr. McDermott is amused, the future son-in-law interprets the silence to mean he's offended Jim.

"Uh, Jim? I mean Mr. McDermott. Sir?"
