I have been hunting for the bloody song for weeks. If anyone figures out who is singing in it I will give them a lollipop.

i thought i was alone. I have sent a pair of emails to discovery begging them for information about this song. The first about 2 weeks ago, the second a few days ago. I got a reply today.. a generic automated email, telling me several places i could look for generic info (already been there) or, if i cant find the information at those places, they provided a link to viewer information where i could contact them, which happened to be the same place i submitted my original 2 emails. Thats some great viewer relations they have going on. Ive googled the crap out of the lyrics, specific phrases, cant find anything. Sounds to me a little like the zero 7 song "in the wiating line" that hbo used in a 2006 promo with the chorus going "everyones saying different things to me.. different things to me". Also sounds a bit like the 4400 theme song. Either way, if anyone finds anything out, please post it.
I feel all of you too... No luck. Wish there was a way to find the ad agency that created the spot... I don't think it's a Discovery exclusive; seems too polished.... but, maybe not. I just found this on the uk site:

it's also used in a renault commercial (easily found on youtube). may not be much help, but that should at least mean that it's not proprietary to discovery.
It sounds a bit like Flunk (flunkmusic.com), but the lyrics don't match any of the songs on their albums.

i listened through all my Zero 7 and Morcheeba, both of which sound very similiar
"Morcheeba - World Looking In" is REALLY close..same distortion in her voice and everything ugh...maybe its a new unrelease Morcheeba song? who knows

Well, sent Morcheeba an e-mail, maybe they'll respond.
What a terrible response from viewer relations. I got the same one. A reply WAS necessary and I can only hope Barbara was the one who read it.
I know this song is also in the Rainbow Six Vegas video game made by Ubisoft.
No luck either in my search. I thought it possibly might be Telepopmusik but I was wrong. I hope someone can find this artist soon, this is drving me crazy!

In the extreme upper left of the screen when "Gamer" appears, in tiny green print appears "permission to play Morcheeba" and I cannot see the remainter because it appears so quickly.

I asked and got a message from Paul Godfrey of Morcheeba saying that song isn't theirs.
It sounds alot like a remix of a song called Breathe from the group telepopmusik. I have spent hours researching this as well. i also sent an email to DC and recieved the same generic response. i have several post in the discovery forums as well. maybe something will turn up there:

Cheers Todd. I have been rewinding and pausing the ad looking for the "permission to play Morcheeba" but dont see it. I see the word ''authorization'' a bunch of times. But not "permission" or "morcheeba". Those words seem more related to the game thats on the screen. Tells that the player is located in India, etc. I only have a 42'' telly so what do I know.
I also (and yes this is getting a little sad and nutty on my part) slowed down the telepopmusik song, and as close as it is, don't really think they match up. Of course it's so distorted and so many sound effects I'm not positive. However the voice alone is still a little fast. ugh. So annoying.

Ladies and Gentlemen the voice of people has no power anymore I guess. Why won't they come clean and spill the beans with the artist? I've gotten all Morcheedbas music and NOTHING there. Ive got no where else to turn. I have sent emails and called the Discovery Channel, Renault, and Ubisoft. I have listened to hours of similar songs and paged through hours of lyrics. I have even contacted a few local DJ friends of mine I even contacted DJ Doboy and emailed some reps of Armin Van Burren (both "electronic" dj's). This will be the first time in the history of the web that It will be unable to provide me with an anwser. Plus my wife says I have spent to much time on this and become to obsessed, she calmly told me that I need to let it go!!!

Has anyone had any luck gaining full access to that site? I tried to register with n/a as the company name and got a reply (from apmmusic.com) that said my membership was "declined". I had my wife apply with her company (which is an advertising agency) and she got a reply that said "You visited the Play KPM Music Finder website recently and registered to have access to some libraries that APM represents in the US and Canada. This is why people don't respect copyright. Here we have a bunch of people begging to get this song and it's not available - tied up in some ridiculous red tape and marketed only to companies for use in advertisements.

Bittorrent...yeah... thepiratebay.org....yeah. since these dumb $*@#$ do not understand that they are, in fact, the reason people resort to stealing music. here is a group of people that are willing to fork over their hard earned money for music (and would gladly do so) only to find out that these companies are not willing to sell us what we want but rather sell us what they think we want. This is the reason I have not bought a cd in 8 years!!!

In defense of music production companies, a lot of their music is only a minute, so to expand to a full length song isn't worth the effort in most cases. In situations of increased demand like this song, certain production companies or the composers (or whoever controls the rights) will decide it is worth it. I haven't heard anything about this song's fate yet, but we'll see.
I downloaded the .ram file 1:58 secondsconverted it to mp3 itrs not perfect but good enough!!! like kieth said once I found out it was a production piece I was suprised to see it so long....I myspaced etyl she responded with a quick hello,,I will ask her/or her myspace rep if a higher quality rip is avail and let you mutha fers no... luv yah!!! alll who wants a lollipop!!!!!!!!??????????/

Hey guys. I know it's been said before, but it IS production music. I cut these spots each month and we pull them down from APMMusic.com. It is NOT Morcheeba, but everyone here at the post house thought it was when they first heard it too. The song title is, "An Other Way". The file name is "An_Other_Way_KOS_0157_00101.aif" I can't post it cuz they'd have my ass fired. Hope that helps!
