Description

To demonstrate a little known fact that "ferrets attack more people than grizzly bears" a Friday the 13th inspired scene is shown. Instead of a chainsaw wielding Jason though there is a ferret wearing a hockey mask and attacking a couple with a chainsaw. The spokesperson then comments that if one thinks that is surprising they should know the fact that "Diet Dew has all the intensity of regular Dew with none of the calories."

This is the worst ad I've ever seen. Pet fans will definitely stop purchasing Pepsico brands over this. Message boards are hummming, and sales are dropping like stones.... Not a smart move Pepsico.

The ad could have been funny if they had used a different pet animal that is completely accepted/understood by most people -- how about a poodle with a chainsaw or a cat or even a rabbit?

There are places, such as California, that have ridiculous laws on the books, making ferrets illegal for totally invalid & inappropriate reasons. There ARE people out there who are ignorant enough to associate ferrets with 'vicious wild animals' so ads like this don't help those who are trying to EDUCATE stupid people as to what ferrets are really like, and why making them illegal, as a 'wild animal' is ridiculous.
Boo, pepsico! Play a joke on a totally 'legal' animal that no one could possibly misunderstand.

First of all...IT'S NOT A HOCKEY MASK!!!! It's a miniature of the mask made from human skin that Leatherface wore in... Texas CHAINSAW Massacre. Hellloooo!?!? Chainsaw!?!? Second of all, GET A SENSE OF HUMOR! It's just a commercial! If you make brand decisions based on stupid little bits of media like this then you obviously have way too much time on your hands!

I love animals, hell I even work at a vet clinic. I thought the ad was funny. I have had 11 ferrets, some adopted, and none of them were ever mean. The most harm a loved ferret can do is knock over your beer! Maybe they'd turn mean if they could get their paws on a tiny chainsaw & a mask.....

I thought it was great,I've got 10 of the furballs.If those in power in Ca.use this as a reason not to legalize ferrets...they are worse off than I thought.I've always thought with more exposure comes more understanding.Maybe even look up ferret on the net and find out what they are really like.

I am a huge animal lover with 4 dogs,3 cats,a giant flemish rabbit,turtle and yes a ferret, this was the funniest commercial I have ever saw,it was done in humor not to show that ferrets run wild with chainsaws and hockeymasks and I agree with attila rather see one with a chainsaw than in a pet store cage or worse with Hilton

What makes it so funny is how cute and funny a Ferret can be in play. They picked the perfect animal for this commercial. I very seldom laugh because I am afraid to loosen up but this commercial made me laugh. Thank You Pepsico. I think the concept of this commercial is funny, and just the puppet-like image of the ferret. I have 4 ferrets, and I got a kick outta it. But I also see why people are upset. I work in a pet store, and I constantly get people coming up to me and relaying all their misconceptions about ferrets, which I spend a good amount of time correcting. It's a funny commercial, but perhaps not so many feathers would've been rumpled if they'd used a less misunderstood animal.

I've had 11 ferrets over the years and think the commercial was funny. Could have cut the part about the amputation tho and it wouldn't have taken away from the commercial. Did have one female ferret who might have done this to any male around as she had been mistreated by someone before I got her. She got along with my daughters just not men, so I gave her to a friend of mine and she and her daughter got along just great. All the ferrets have free run of my house and would sleep at the foot of the bed under the covers. One albino female would sleep next to my neck as well. Took them camping and for walks in the neighborhood and they always created quite a stir.

I used a image from the comercial as the computer background, and it scairs the crap out of my mom when she is on and one of the ferrets comes over and starts to nibble on her ankles...lol

Why is it important to depict any animal as mean? Just not funny or terrible. Have it run off with a MD can or spill it to the horror of the drinker who doesn't have any more. Why this? More stupid/dull than anything.

I am a huge Dt. Dew drinker.... I thought this was so hillarious I had a ferret costume made for halloween including the hockey mask, chainsaw(with the Dt. Dew logo), and combat boots...if I wasn't 1 of the judges I know this would get me 1st place. People need to lighten up and have fun!!!
